What is Club Clave?

Club Clave is a salsa club concept run by DJs Juan Pablo og Guachi Guaro. Club Clave organizes regularly salsa parties og concerts for all salsa fanatics in Oslo and the rest of Norway. Club Clave is also a DJ-collective that offer dj services anywhere in the world.

Club Clave's concept is simple - salsa, salsa and more salsa for all dancers. At our salsa parties you will hear all types of salsa: from New York, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Cuba, Venezuela, Panama, Africa and more! We also play other clave based rythms such as cha-cha-cha, rumba (guaguanco), son montuno and guaracha. For every Club Clave party we therefore invite DJs with differend style of play.

Club Clave is also a source for information about salsa music. On the DJ-pages you can find playlists, biographies for artists, information about artists and album reviews. Our hope is that any salsa dancer will find useful information about salsa music and artists here. A journey that will only help the dancer to be more aware of the culture and history of this dance and the music they love to dance to.

Why the name Club Clave?

Clave is a cuban rythm instrument. - two wooden sticks - that all salsa music builds around. With the name we want to emphasize the music and the importance of the music for the dance - pure and real salsa for all salseros.

Free classes at every Club Clave party

At our parties we offer free classes with some of Norway's best instructors in different clave based dances. At the first party we had intro classes in salsa and a class in cha-cha-cha. We have had classes in afro-cuban dances such as rumba and son as well as salsa classes for shines and partnerwork on immediate to advanced level.
